Hi there, I’m Allanah. I’m a clinical psychologist based in Tauranga. I see my role as helping clients to identify both what is and isn’t working well for them in their lives, and to support them to change the things that aren’t working.
Throughout the course of our lives we will all have experiences that challenge our wellbeing, whether that’s a specific mental health problem or adjustment to difficult life events. These ups and downs are a normal part of living, not something you should feel ashamed about or have to manage alone.
I work with people to manage and overcome a range of challenges. Most commonly, I work with people on:
From the beginning I was thrilled that Allanah agreed to support me. She was open, warm and prepared to go out of her way to help me, even doing some background research before our session on my lesser known health condition. Allanah was professional and skillful, and whilst it was hard at times to express myself articulately, Allanah’s careful listening, validation, and gentle questions helped her to understand the challenges I was experiencing. I genuinely felt heard and understood. I would not hesitate recommending Allanah to anyone needing a bit of support through the tough times.
I am passionate about women’s wellbeing, and a lot of my work is in supporting women through turbulent periods of their lives, including challenges such as:
I also offer professional supervision to other mental health and allied health professionals.
If you are unsure if I would be a good fit for the support you need, please contact me to discuss working together.
