I offer professional coaching and supervision to people whose roles centre on other people, whether as a health professional or as a people leader.
Regular supervision helps to prioritise and proactively maintain your wellbeing, recognising that supporting others is often demanding work and can lead to conflict, burnout, and compassion fatigue.
In supervision sessions I create a self-reflective space to help you review and learn from tricky experiences, to identify the things you do well in supporting others, as well to notice areas for growth and improvement.
What is professional supervision?
- Sessions are regular (e.g., monthly), planned meetings.
- We focus on professional issues relevant to you. These can include clinical issues and case work for mental health professionals, or more general issues related to your work such as the emotional toll of your work, managing conflict and difficult interpersonal dynamics, boundaries, and work-life balance.
- Supervision prioritises the time and space to reflect on these professional issues, and take new insights and strategies forward into your work.
- We consider the interplay between you personally, your wellbeing, and your work, enabling you to look after yourself while doing your job well.
- The practice of reflecting, learning, and improving in this way can foster greater self-awareness, professional development, and help work to be more enjoyable and sustainable.
- Our discussions in supervision stay between us. Having a space outside of your workplace for these conversations can allow you to explore issues honestly and openly.
As well as supervising other psychologists and mental health professionals, I have experience in supervision with people from different professional backgrounds. I spent several years working in workplace wellbeing – facilitating wellbeing training, offering leadership coaching, and assisting leaders to support mental health in their teams.
