FAQ's

When and where are you available to see clients?

I am available on Wednesdays and Fridays for face to face appointments, and Tuesdays for online appointments only. My office is on Sixteenth Avenue, Tauranga.

Who do you work with?

I work with adult clients. I don’t work with children, or offer couples’ therapy.

Do I need a referral?

No, you can contact me directly. Please note that I am not currently registered to take ACC referrals.

What therapies do you offer?

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology. I have also undertaken training in additional trauma-focused therapies. In short, each of these approaches has slightly different ways of working with the problems you may face, and each offers a different toolkit of ways to work through those challenges. As we work together we can talk about which approach offers the best fit for you.

What should I expect from our first session?

In the first session we will discuss how things are going in different areas of your life, and what you are struggling with. We’ll talk about what you want to get out of seeing a psychologist, and agree a plan of action for our work together. I will make suggestions about what I think is likely to help, what input I may be able to make, and an idea of how long that work together is likely to take.

What will it cost?

I charge $220 per appointment (50-60 minutes). Some health insurance policies provide cover for consultations with Registered Clinical Psychologists, so check your policy to see if you are entitled to claim the cost back.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel or change your appointment with more than 24 hours notice, you won’t be charged. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at 50% of my usual rate if I am unable to fill your appointment time.
